Pork Sinigang with Taro roots and Vegetables
Hello Everyone!
Yippee! It's weekends wohoo!I'm excited because one of my good friend is celebrating her birthday today and we are going! It's going to be fun day, pigging out delicious food and great company with my friends and family. Do you have any plan for this weekend with your family? What ever your plans maybe, just have FUN! Anyways, talking about food and recipes- the latest on the list is my Sinigang na Baboy na may Gabi. I know the title kinda long and hard to remember. wink:) Basically, its kinda like Pork Sinigang that I made couple months ago but this one have a taro root instead. YUM! So, perfect for rainy and cold days. I can totally picture myself eating this dish anytime of the day, because this is one of my favorite.
The inspiration behind this dish was when I saw the Knorr Seasoning mix while I shopping at one of my favorite store. The next thing I know was, I see myself looking for some GABI or Taro roots which is available mostly on Asian store. Taro roots makes the soup more condensed and taste scrumptious but if you can't find one just substitute with potatoes or totally skip it. This recipe is very forgiving or I called it FREE Recipe because you can totally make your own version and add whatever kind of vegetables you want. Are you ready to make some Sinigang with Gabi?? Come one you guys. Join me in my kitchen and lets taste and explore the beauty of cooking delicious food. Yum!!! Check out my super easy recipe below.
NOTES- Adjust the taste according to your preference. Add your favorite choice of meat and have FUN!

DeleteLooks delish. We do not often have corn in our sinigang. More likely in nilaga we see the corn.
ReplyDeleteWe do too, but we have corn available kaya sinama na. Thank you, Sis:)
DeleteParang nilaga :) But sure looks yummy. Perfect for rainy, cold season :)
ReplyDeleteOo so perfect for rainy and cold season, lalo na pag may kasama kang kumakain. Thank you, Sis:)
DeleteLove it when I learn something new on cooking everyday dishes. I have not eaten gabi for a long time. I wonder if we could dig up some gabi roots from the backyard.
ReplyDeleteIts hard for me to find one here in my place, kaya when I saw one hindi ko na pinalagpas. Thank you, Sis:)
DeleteLooks tasty!! Happy birthday to your friend :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Keith:)

DeleteThis is a staple in our household and it's all-in-one dish: may soup at veggies ka na, may protein pa. This is also good during the rainy season.

DeleteVery appetizing, sis! Lately, I've been feeling tired taking over the kitchen. But this looks worth a try really.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, I get hungry nga din everytime I visit my blog. I hope you give it a try and do your own twist. I bet its good with beef or chicken also. Thank you:)

ReplyDeleteSame here. Thank you, Sis:)
DeleteI enjoy eating taro. I remembered not loving it when I was younger because of its texture. IT grew on me and love everything about it --from appetizer to maindish to dessert
ReplyDeleteSame here! I hate it back when I was younger and my mom always put in ginataan pa naman, but now I'm all into it. Thank you
DeleteI used to grate some gabi when cooking sinigang. This will make the soup a bit thick.
ReplyDeleteThat's great idea too!Thank you:)
DeleteI want this for tonight's dinner. I want the corn naman for merienda. Hihi
ReplyDeleteYum! I think I'm going to make Sinigang again kakamiss..:) Thanks!
