Easy Atsara Recipe

Homemade Atsara Recipe
(Pickled Papaya Recipe)

Hello Everyone!

I'm so excited to share with you my very first Atsara recipe. Oh, Yes! I just feel so proud of myself (lol) My Mom always makes this recipe when I was young and I kinda get use to it growing up. Since, I moved to the States I never make my own homemade Atsara, I thought that this recipe was hard to make until I was proven wrong. When craving strikes, I just have to give it a go. I was totally surprised how easy this recipe to make. Grab your favorite drink and let's get started.

Calling all my beloved friends and blog readers out-there to try this super easy homemade Atsara Recipe. Yes! this is highly recommended and taste scrumptious. I can't wait! So, lets get cooking. But, First grab all the ingredients listed below and listen to your favorite music while slicing all the vegetables :)

Enjoy your Atsara!:)

Ingredients:

1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
4 cups grated fresh green papaya
1/4 cup salt
1 carrot
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 ginger

Directions:

- Toss the grated papaya with 1/4 cup salt together in a large bowl. Mixed it well. Allow to sit for 1 hour.
- Drain the liquid from the papaya and rinse thoroughly with water. Then, place the papaya in a cheese cloth and let it drain excess moisture completely.

- Chopped the vegetables into thin slices, just like the one on the photo above.
-Combine all the ingredients ( grated papaya and chopped vegetables) into large bowl. Mixed it well.
- You can totally use mason jars or any clean containers you have on hand to store your Atsara. I use my lunchbox container and it works just fine.
- Put the Atsara into individual containers and set aside.

-Stir vinegar, water, sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt into a small pan. Bring it to boil for 5 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into individuals containers with Atsara in it. Let it marinate in liquid for 1 day.
- Enjoy!

Notes: I used cheese grater to grate the Papaya- it comes out a little finer texture which is totally fine with me. Feel free to use what you have on hand base on your preference.

And that concludes the Atsara Recipe for today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! This Atsara recipe is so perfect with fried Bangus, barbecues, and I even pair it with Sinigang and it was delicious! The little tangy sweetness and the crunch from vegetables is just delicious!.
