Pork Sinigang na may Gabi Recipe

Pork Sinigang with Taro roots and Vegetables

Hello Everyone!
Yippee! It's weekends wohoo!I'm excited because one of my good friend is celebrating her birthday today and we are going! It's going to be fun day, pigging out delicious food and great company with my friends and family. Do you have any plan for this weekend with your family? What ever your plans maybe, just have FUN! Anyways, talking about food and recipes- the latest on the list is my Sinigang na Baboy na may Gabi. I know the title kinda long and hard to remember. wink:) Basically, its kinda like Pork Sinigang that I made couple months ago but this one have a taro root instead. YUM! So, perfect for rainy and cold days. I can totally picture myself eating this dish anytime of the day, because this is one of my favorite.
The inspiration behind this dish was when I saw the Knorr Seasoning mix while I shopping at one of my favorite store. The next thing I know was, I see myself looking for some GABI or Taro roots which is available mostly on Asian store. Taro roots makes the soup more condensed and taste scrumptious but if you can't find one just substitute with potatoes or totally skip it. This recipe is very forgiving or I called it FREE Recipe because you can totally make your own version and add whatever kind of vegetables you want. Are you ready to make some Sinigang with Gabi?? Come one you guys. Join me in my kitchen and lets taste and explore the beauty of cooking delicious food. Yum!!! Check out my super easy recipe below.

NOTES- Adjust the taste according to your preference. Add your favorite choice of meat and have FUN!

Pork Sinigang Recipe

Sinigang na Baboy

( Rachel's Recipe )

Sinigang is a Filipino soup or stew characterized by its sour and savory flavor most often associated with tamarind (sampalok). It is one of the popular viands in Philippine cuisine.
( source  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinigang )
I would say "  pork sinigang" is one of my comfort food. This is one of my favorite food during rainy or cold season aside from Binignit.
Me and my circle of friends enjoyed pork sinigang most with fish sauce on the side..just so perfect together.. wonder why I'm drooling right now..hahaha
This recipe is from my friend Rachel, she loved to make sinigang for everyone, I call it her specialty, although we do change it a little bit by adding spinach instead of bokchoy or petchay. This sour soup is just so perfect for friends get together, potluck party and for the whole family to enjoy. Rachel don't mind sharing her delicious sinigang. I'll promise you, you won't disappointed how good is it. C'mon let's start cooking!
Note:
-Used whatever parts of pork you like and vegetables like green beans, peppers, eggplant and much more.
- adjust the sour taste according to your liking:)

Ingredients:
Pork- cut into chunk pieces ( I used pork belly )
Tomato
Petchay/ Bokchoy- (I used spinach)
Onion
Salt and Pepper
Knorr Sinigang Mix/ Mama Sita's sinigang mix
Water

 Directions:
1.) In large pot, bring the cut chunk pork to boil, Let it simmer until the pork is tender for about 45 minutes.
2.) Add the tomatoes, knorr sinigang mix and taste according to your preference. Cover for 5 minutes
3.) Add the spinach, salt and pepper to taste. Remove from the stove.
4.) Best when serve hot along with rice. Enjoy!
